Samantha Angelbeck

East St. Louis Wrestling Girls Head Coach

Sam Angelbeck is a USA Wrestling Bronze and Teal level coach and also has experience as an assistant on the Illinois National Team staff and Missouri National Team staff. She was the first women's coach at Northwest High School in Cedar Hill, MO.


Collegiately, Angelbeck wrestled at Lindenwood University-Belleville competing at 48kg and 109 pounds. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in Sports Management with a minor in History in 2017. For two seasons she was the Graduate Assistant at Fontbonne University and for two seasons the Assistant Women's Coach at Missouri Baptist University.


Originally from Milford, Connecticut, Angelbeck was a team captain and varsity starter at 106 pounds at Jonathan Law High School. She was just the second female ever to qualify for the State Open Championships after placing sixth at the Connecticut Class M State Tournament. She went on to wrestle for Team Connecticut at multiple national tournaments. In her senior season, she placed sixth overall at the USA Wrestling Girls Nationals and was the 2013 New England Girls champion at 105 pounds.
